How It Works

Using the Bagster® bag is simple. But in case you run into a problem, our Problem Solution Forum can help.

I can't get the sides of my Bagster bag to stay up.

I can’t get the sides of my Bagster bag to stay up.

SOLUTION

By folding the sides of the Bagster bag down before you begin filling, you are enabling the unique, self-steadying feature that helps the sides stay up. It also makes setup quick and easy. And because the Bagster bag is made of flexible material, it will conform to the shape of your load, wrapping itself tightly around odd-shaped objects at collection time.

I'm not sure if I need one bag or two.

The Bagster bag can hold up to 3,300 lb of debris, including up to one cubic yard of heavy materials such as dirt, brick, rock, sod, concrete, sand, asphalt, plaster, stucco, etc. Volume constraints are very important to consider. If your project requires larger capacity, you can use multiple Bagster bags at the same time. Waste Management's Bagster collection vehicles can pick up multiple Bagster bags in one trip. Discounts may apply for multiple Bagster bags collected at the same time and same address.

Can I throw my old cans of paint and old fluorescent bulbs in the Bagster bag?

Unfortunately not. Waste Management cannot accept anything toxic or hazardous in Bagster bags. This includes, but is not limited to, paint, oil, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs or ballasts, appliances, electronics, food waste, railroad ties, tires, medical waste, pesticides, chemicals, etc. Yard waste is unacceptable in some areas. Restricted materials may vary by area. For more information on Bagster filling guidelines, click here

I need to cancel the pickup I scheduled.

I'm throwing out some sharp objects and I'm afraid the bag will rip.

The Bagster bag won't tear if punctured, unless sharp objects continue to cut through the material.

Can the Bagster bag handle a load of bricks?

Yes, but keep in mind, we can only accept up to one cubic yard of heavy materials such as dirt, brick, rock, sod, concrete, sand, asphalt, plaster, stucco, etc. For safety reasons, Waste Management will NOT collect a Bagster bag that is loaded more than one cubic yard of heavy debris. (Additional fees may apply if a scheduled collection cannot be performed due to overloading.)

I have trees in front of my house. Will that be a problem for the pickup?

It could be. The Bagster bag has to be clear of any wires, trees, or structures. If that is not possible, the Bagster bag may be placed in your driveway, but a signed damage waiver is required.

I can't be there when they come to pick it up. Is that okay?

You do not need to be present for collection.
